Join us for a virtual tour of CCAT’s Advanced Manufacturing Center located in East Hartford, Connecticut. This tour will highlight the AMC’s technology in additive manufacturing, precision machining, and metrology and inspection. During this 45-minute experience, you will hear from the AMC’s experts, including Jeff Crandall, Nasir Mannan, and John von Roemer, as they walk you through the extensive capabilities and applications of innovative technologies in manufacturing.
• In additive manufacturing, both powder bed fusion and directed energy deposition technologies will be showcased including the Optomec LENS 850R, Renishaw AM400, and DMG MORI LASERTEC 65 3D hybrid.
• In precision machining, 5-axis milling and turning machining will be presented on the Mazak Variaxis 630-5X-II-T. Wire EDM machining will be demonstrated on the Sodick SL400G wire EDM with linear motor drive.
• In metrology and inspection, the NSI X5000 CT scanner, GOM 5108 Scanbox, and M3DI Variscan 3D Scanner will be shown.
This experience is designed to provide incumbent workers, educators and college students with a general understanding for technologies in additive manufacturing, precision machining, and metrology and inspection, while showcasing the importance of these technologies in many industries today.
